Pricing: what would your meeting week cost?
Compare two budgets: speaking into apps and capturing meetings. Wispr Pro’s unlimited dictation does not establish unlimited Notetaker meetings. Superwhisper offers monthly, annual, and lifetime purchases, with platform differences to check. Granola and Fathom are meeting-focused alternatives. Dictaria earns a place when live Coach assistance is the job you need; it is not a system-wide voice-typing subscription.

Privacy: where the audio and text go
Wispr’s dictation and Notetaker have different storage rules: Notetaker transcripts default to never deleting, and some features are outside third-party zero retention. Superwhisper lets you choose voice and text models independently, so selecting local transcription is only half the check. Dictaria has the same important distinction between local speech recognition and cloud Coach requests. Choose by the entire data path, including the resulting text.
Bot-free capture does not guarantee local processing. Likewise, a no-training promise does not mean meeting content is never stored. These rows describe published policies, not an independent security audit.

When to keep Wispr Flow
Flow’s main product turns speech into writing across apps. Its documentation now also describes a meeting Notetaker with recording, a live transcript, summaries, and a separate place for your thoughts. Keep Flow if your main frustration is typing messages, documents, or prompts. If you are also evaluating its Notetaker, test that separately; success with voice typing does not automatically establish fit for multi-person meetings.
Make two shortlists, then decide whether to combine them
For dictation, try punctuation, corrections, names, and insertion into the apps you actually use. For meetings, test capture, the final record, and an unanswered question from the discussion. If you need both, two focused tools may be a reasonable choice. Avoid paying for overlapping meeting allowances merely because a dictation feature is convenient.

- For meeting tools, capture a short discussion with a decision and an unresolved issue. Review both separately.
- List the devices and apps you use each week. Confirm access to the specific dictation or Notetaker feature on each one.
