Pricing: what would your meeting week cost?
Copilot Business is an add-on to a qualifying Microsoft 365 subscription, not the full cost of the workspace. The free Copilot Chat offer is a different entitlement. Include the required base plan and your actual meeting access before comparing its monthly or annual price with a standalone assistant. Dictaria’s planned Pro price includes Coach but does not include Microsoft’s suite.

Privacy: where the audio and text go
Microsoft says organizational prompts and responses are not used to train foundation models. Existing Microsoft 365 permissions and Purview controls remain central, and Copilot interaction history is stored. Dictaria is a separate service with its own account and provider retention; it does not inherit those controls. Compare the approved access and storage arrangement as carefully as the live-answer experience.
Bot-free capture does not guarantee local processing. Likewise, a no-training promise does not mean meeting content is never stored. These rows describe published policies, not an independent security audit.

When to keep Microsoft Teams Copilot
Microsoft documents Copilot questions and summaries during Teams meetings and afterward. The availability of a saved transcript affects after-meeting use, and meeting or organizational settings affect what participants can do. Microsoft Teams Copilot documentation.
Keep Teams Copilot in consideration when it fits your organization’s established workspace and controls. A personal assistant should not be used to work around a meeting organizer’s or employer’s restrictions.
Access after the meeting is part of the feature
Ask who owns the record, whether a transcript will be available, and who can use the assistant afterward. Those details matter if you regularly join meetings arranged by different groups. Test the actual account and meeting configuration you will use; a demonstration under an administrator’s account may not reflect your access.

What to test before switching
Use a short, representative meeting you have permission to record. Keep the source material consistent so you can compare the work each tool helps you finish.
- Test a meeting under your normal organizer and participant settings, including access after it ends.
- Confirm whether a separate meeting service is permitted for the type of discussion you attend.
- Compare the usefulness of one live question and one later recall question without changing the source material.
Making the choice
